Ash Dump Doors

Ash Dump Doors

Ash Dump Doors

Ash dump doors are the small brick-sized doors located in the bottom of most fireplaces. They allow you to sweep ashes into an ash pit located through the doors under your fireplace. Due to intense heat and corrosion damage, ash dump doors need frequent replacing.

Our ash dump doors are constructed of 16 gauge powder coated steel or 304 stainless steel. They fit the standard 4” x 8” ash dump opening in the floor of the firebox. These ash dump doors feature a center pivot door so the homeowners can use their fireplace tools to open and close them by pushing on the rear section.

Cleanout Doors

Chimney cleanout doors allow you easy access into the chimney flue to clean out buildup and debris. They also allow an expert the access needed to perform a thorough chimney inspection.

Thin doors are easily damaged and can affect the draft flow of your chimney. Chimney Cricket will inspect the current state of your chimney cleanout door and recommend the best replacement material. Cast iron cleanout doors are usually the best choice because they are designed to withstand damage and heat. They will fit airtight and help maintain a proper draft flow. A wide range of sizes from standard to oversized are available to meet your needs.

Smoke Guards for Your Fireplace

Smoke Guards for Your Fireplace

Smoke Guards for Your Fireplace

Smoke guards from Chimney Cricket keep the smoke going UP the chimney.

They also:

  • Prevent Smoke Rollout
  • Are Available In Black or Brass
  • Fit Fireplaces 28 1/2” to 48” Wide
  • Are Spring-Loaded For Easy Installation
  • Have Heat Resistant Adhesive Caulk (Included) - Seals Smoke Guard In Position

When the experts at Chimney Cricket see a fireplace with smoke stains discoloring the face of the firebox, we know the homeowner has a smoke problem, even if they don’t mention it. In most cases, this problem is solved with the installation of a smoke guard. Smoke guards are black finished so they do their job of sending smoke up the chimney instead of into the living space.

Most fireplaces smoke because their opening is too high. Smoke guards lower the fireplace opening and hold in the smoke, correcting the problem. Fireplaces will also smoke for other reasons such as an undersized flue or insufficient air supply. Chimney Cricket professionals will inspect your fireplace and chimney as well as offer customized services to solve your unique smoke situation.

Fireplace Insert Installation

A fireplace insert is a modified wood stove that has been fabricated to fit within the firebox of a traditional stone or brick fireplace. Fireplace inserts convert inefficient fireplaces into high-performance stove-like heating systems. Fireplace insert installation from Chimney Cricket ensures that nearly all of the heat produced in the fireplace insert is delivered into the room instead of being absorbed by the stone or brick like a traditional fireplace. Decorative faceplates cover the fireplace insert to give your fireplace a truly customized look.
